Words to Run & Live By | Runner’s World & Running Times

I defy you to read this and then not be inspired to do whatever it is that you might be putting off doing….. Let’s not live life in the herd. … Let’s lead and coach and inspire others to live their dreams. … life is way way too short. So short and at the same time, every day is long, so long. …

I ran a race!

So last weekend, the woman who said she’d never run a competitive running race agreed the night before a race to run a 10k 1400 feet climb fell race. ….

Oh,  and she elected to drive the car pool of 4 50-66 year old seasoned fell running blokes to the race. ….

The downhills on these races are mad. …I think I’d envisaged a kind of “Sound of Music” style downhill. .. smooth, grassy, kind of like a carpet. … instead you get boulders, zig zag, a random style, mud puddles, more boulders. .. you get the idea. …

Anyway, 100 runners finished after me…. Not sure I’ll do it again. But then didn’t think I’d do this first one so clearly I’m absolutely no judge of what I’ll do. …

I’ve been away from writing over the summer. I’m back.

Roaring on tonight.

hummus* and oatcakes**

* ok – seem to be a variety of spellings on this – Sainsbury and Waitrose have it as houmous….thoughts please
** the north Staffordshire type – basically oat crepes, the oats off setting the cholesterol of the bacon most people put inside them

This is the most delicious combination. More so perhaps because it proceeds a refreshing, revitalising evening run.

That’s all I have to say tonight.

Roaring on.
